 Harlem Superstars are a group of talented basketball players whose main mission is to entertain kids and their families through the game of exciting show time basketball. We are not the Globetrotters, although we do respect them for being the pioneers of comedy basketball. We believe our new and fresh philosophy is better and more up-to-date with today's society. We do fundraisers to raise money and the teams that we play against consist of Policemen, Firemen, Teachers, Students, Celebrities, and much more. We also play at Corporate affairs, Colleges and Church functions. You put the team together and we will play against you to raise money for your good cause. We offer a great family show.
Although basketball is a major part of our success, it is not the most important part of our organization. We take pride in the fact that we do school visitations where we mix motivational speaking with some fun, which is a major part of our world famous show.
If you choose to book the Harlem Superstars, be assured that school visitations would be part of your package at no extra cost. The Harlem Superstars realize that kids are our future and sometimes they may need to be encouraged, nurtured, and given a few kind
words of advice. We carefully hand pick our basketball players who enjoy motivational speaking, interaction with kids, and are truly respectable young men.
Our show consists of a lot of fan-to-player interaction. We believe this sets us apart from many other major sports teams in America. Autograph sessions, dancing and high-fives are just some of the fan interaction you may see at our game. We have a halftime show where we bring kids out from the stands to participate in a contest for a chance to win a prize.
Our amazing athletes, show time dunks, Chicken Dance, razzmatazz passing, and exciting tricks will keep you on the edge of your seats waiting to see what will happen next. In our opinion, we have the best basketball comedians in the world. Kevin "Showboat" Jackson is a seasoned veteran with ten years of experience. His amazing no-look shot is truly priceless. This along with his huge smile and love for the game are all virtues that make him a successful basketball comedian. Our other entertainer is a natural born comedian. Spend ten minutes with Chris "Super Chicken" Turnquist and you will see why the kids love him and his nickname. Super Chicken is hilarious. He is a great dancer and has a wonderful Bohemian accent, which intrigues many people. Ricky "7-Footer" Lopes has twelve years of entertainment basketball experience. The kids gravitate to our gentle giant. He has been featured on several national television commercials, made appearances on the NBC hit series Law and Order, and performed skits on Late Night with Conan O'Brien and the Late Show with David Letterman. He is a major part of our school visitations. The kids are amazed to stand up close to someone so tall. We also have one of the best "6-0" dunkers in the world, Ron "Rock-it" Christy. His leaping ability for a man of his size is something special. Our point guard, Mark "Hollywood" Jones, is an amazing ball handler. He was a three-year starter at the University of Dayton, where he led his team to the NCAA tournament. On our taxi squad is Jason "White Shadow" Gibbons from Bath, Maine. He is one of the best tricksters in the business. He is also in charge of video productions for the Harlem Superstars. Shadow is one of the nicest gentlemen you will ever meet.
In our eyes everyone in the world is a Superstar because we are all blessed with the ability to do special things for other people. Our players are Superstars because we make the world a better place through basketball. Ask yourself, "Am I a Superstar?" If the answer is yes, pick up the phone and arrange for our Superstars to visit your town. "You are what you say, you are a Superstar!"
